Materials:
L hook
Red Heart Super Saver 8 oz Hunter green; 4 oz Holly Berry; 4 oz Buff; 4 oz Black

Poncho measures 30" across and 44" long before it's folded in half.
Gauge: 6 sts = 2" and 3 rows = 2"

Abbreviations used:
ch - chain
st - stitch
sk - skip
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet

NOTE 1: ch 2 does not count as a stitch.
NOTE 2: numbers in ( ) at end of rows are not instructing you to do anything, they are telling you the number of stitches you should have for the row.

Start with hunter green
Chain 70

ROW 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch* repeat from * to * to end. (69 sts)
ch 2, turn.

ROW 2: 1 hdc in each sc and each ch-1 space to end. (69 hdc) ch 2, turn.

ROW 3 thru ROW 7: 1 hdc in ea st across to end. (69 hdc) ch 2, turn.

At end of row 7, break off Hunter Green and attach black. Work hdc in each stitch in the following color patterns.

ROW 8: Black

ROW 9 thru 11: Holly Berry

ROW 12: Black

ROW 13 thru 17: Hunter Green

ROW 18: Black

ROW 19 thru 21: Buff

ROW 22: Black

ROW 23 thru 27: Hunter Green

ROW 28: Black

ROW 29 thru 31: Holly Berry

ROW 32: Black

ROW 33 thru 37: Hunter Green

ROW 38 thru 39: Black

NECK OPENING ROW 40: Black, 24 hdc, ch 21, sk 21 hdc, hdc in next 24 sts. (69 sts) ch 2, turn

ROW 41: Black, hdc in ea hdc and ea chain across to end. (69 hdc). ch 2, turn.

ROW 42: Black, hdc in ea st across to end. (69 hdc) ch 2 turn. Total of 5 rows black.

Work 1 hdc in ea st across in the following pattern.

ROW 43 thru 47: Hunter Green

ROW 48: Black

ROW 49 thru 51: Holly Berry

ROW 52: Black

ROW 53 thru 56: Hunter Green

ROW 57: Black

ROW 58 thru 60: Buff

ROW 61: Black

ROW 62 thru 66: Hunter Green

ROW 67: Black

ROW 68 thru 70: Holly Berry

ROW 71: Black

ROW 72 thru 78: Hunter green.

Fasten off and work in ends.

Cut 16" strands of yarn for fringe, fold in half and attach to bottom of poncho. Use 1 strand of each color for each fringe tassel, place fringe in every 4th stitch across.
